I was born and raised in Loves Park, Illinois and lived in the same house until I married. While in high school, I majored in English and art and received a scholarship to the University of Kansas for a summer fine arts certification. My first few jobs were in graphic arts, which led me into the advertising industry. During the years that I owned an advertising agency, I developed a passion for marketing and copywriting.
For years I wrote ad copy. Having a large client for eighteen years, I was heavily devoted to writing about insecticides and pesticides (primarily rat & mouse baits). There were a couple of years that I spent writing promotional comic strip advertising. I developed the characters and sales message then combined them into an entertaining dialog with frame-by-frame ‘scene’ instructions for the cartoonists who illustrated them.
In the late 90’s I became involved in writing for the technology industry. Seeing a need to simplify techno-geek terminology, I wrote business plans for technology entrepreneurs and helped put my clients in front of angel and venture capital investors.
More recently, I’ve written catalog copy for the nation’s 20th largest catalog company, owned by the nation’s third-largest specialty retail apparel holding company.
Currently I’m writing my first novel: ‘Through My Sister's Eyes’ – paranormal nonfiction. I also accept select freelance and consulting projects.
